Kids always find a way to make us smile. The breeze running through her hair was enough to make her laugh like there was nothing else in life but that moment, the moment between her and I, where time stopped. The beautiful scents flying around us engraves in our hearts to return later in life only to trigger that moment once again.

■ AT THE PARK
■ Through my window…
I love it when it rains! First comes the feeling of the rain in the air and it makes my heart sing with anticipation. You smell the wet pavement and you know something beautiful is coming your way, washing away the grit and grime of winter. You hear the thunder getting closer after the flashes of lightning. Then the rain starts, light drops at first and increasing to an intense downpour against the roof.
The big moment comes when the power goes off. You open your window and you can see that you are one of only a few houses that don’t have any power. But this is just great. When the power goes off, it forces every member of the family to come together to one center point. You drop everything you were doing and all cuddle up together around just one little candle. It’s like time slows down and people big and small, old and young, come out from their little hiding place to become a family again. When there is nothing else to do but talk and smile, you can hear every noise going on. You hear the beautiful rain hitting the ground, the cars and trees.
When I look out of the window, I love to see the frosted glistening drops of water mix with the colors of the lights of the cars passing by. I love the sound of the cars pushing the water as the car passes by my window. It’s like a whole symphony… the beautiful voices of my family mixing with the sounds of the cars, the thunder and the drops of water. Even the streets feel fresh. I just love it when It rains :)
