Chicago Botanic Gardens | Alexis + Matthew

When Alexis told me about her wedding day, I knew it was going to be the beginning of a beautiful story. They picked Chicago Botanic Gardens and it was just the perfect place to celebrate their love. The setting and mood was spectacular, It was as if I was on a movie set of the secret garden.  After their wedding, we were able to go back and do an after session. I am so glad I shot it on film; it fits their style just perfect. Alexis and Matt are so special to me in so many ways that I am honored for letting us witness just how much you love each other :)

New York Engagement | Rima and Dennis

Rima and Dennis are such a sweet couple since the moment they picked me up from the airport making sure I had everything I needed.  Before we started shooting their engagement session, they changed into their traditional Indian outfits,  which they just looked amazing.  I just loved the colors she picked.  At one location I ask them if she would climb a fence to get this awesome shot by the canal.  Rima said, “Yazy this is something I would never do but I would only do it for you” ☺

Throughout the day the locations were endless, and I just loved them all.  We walked, took the subway, and many cab rides.  We covered spots like Manhattan, Brooklyn, Times Square and we even went to a friend’s rooftop party where I captured the background of Manhattan.   We had dinner around 1am and then it was back to the airport to catch my flight that next morning.  I ended up sleeping for only 2 hours, but since I had so much energy, it didn’t feel like it.  We are so so excited for their wedding this coming August.

Union Station Chicago Wedding

Sunny and warm, were some of the ingredients of this beautiful wedding. Linda and Richard are such a great couple and we had much fun shooting their engagement and their wedding. We had a blast in the trolley looking for locations downtown Chicago that will fit with their style, covering spots like the Bean in Millennium Park, Adler Planetarium, Union Station, and China Town. I won’t forget that sudden down pour which soaked us all, but they were all troopers and we had a lot of laughs. Once we got to the reception location at Furama Resturants in China Town, everybody dried off and the fun began. Linda and Richard, I hope you have an amazing life together and I wish you both the best.
